SURFSKATE EDITION

After years in the making, we are proud to finally launch the surfskate camp.

Tailored for beginners, we built a program for you to learn how to surfskate with the perspective of improving your surfing. From learning how properly stand on the board and generating speed to the basic maneuvers, you will start on flat ground and then experiment the concrete waves of a skatepark. And you’ll get to use these skills during the surfing lessons.

Besides a week of fun and riding in the epic Portuguese scenery, our goal is that you go home with the proper technique to surf the concrete when the waves are flat or far away.

SURFSKATE

Surfskate will be our main focus, not only for you to have fun on your board, but also to learn how to apply those skills to train your surfing.

Your Instructors

Surfing

Surf classes usually take place at our local spot. But if the conditions are not suitable, we will travel to Peniche to find the perfect ones for you.

The duration of the class is 2h, plus all the logistics. You will receive the guidance and material corresponding to your level, whether you are a total beginner or a confident surfer.

One session will be filmed and later on analysed back at the camp for you to identify the key points to work on next time.

Yoga

We are happy to offer you daily short morning but yoga classes during this camp, as well a longer midweek session. It is a valuable complementary activity that will not only help to boost your performance on a board but also bring a pleasant relaxation and stretching following your skate and surf sessions.

Our yoga instructor Pablo, who’s also a surf enthusiast, will be building his practice around the needs of skaters and surfers: preparation, balance, mobility, flexibility, breathing etc. The purpose of daily yoga during the week is to support you in the main camp´s activities, so these will be general, open to every level sessions. In other words, if you are searching for a specific style of practice/level, this is not an adequate place for it.

Location

Santa Cruz (google: Praia de Santa Cruz) is a small town overlooking the miles-long coast of the Atlantic. Located 50 km to the north of Lisbon, this enchanting corner still remains hidden from mass tourism. What does this mean? A coffee under 1€. Enough place for your beach towel. Surfing without a crowd of 100 people. A chance to meet locals in a natural habitat and listen to the melody of the Portuguese language.

And, of course, THESE views.

Accommodation

We will stay at a family-owned Surfcamp 360, which is far more than just a lovely house. It is a place where genuine hospitality and human warmth find their way through every detail.

The house with charming views of the valley boasts a fruit garden, an on-site bar and an open terrace for chillaxing gatherings. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen, where you can prepare your own meals.

We are totally in love with this place because here you get an authentic, living a la Portuguese feeling without compromising on conveniences, like a hot shower and free Wi-Fi.

Homemade food

Our wonderful host Andreia will treat us with home- and lovemade breakfasts and dinners. It will be healthy and delicious meals with a Portuguese touch; every day different but always vegetarian, abundant, with high-quality and always local when possible ingredients as well as seasonality in mind.

We take into consideration most food allergies and restrictions, just send us a message!

FAQ

How to get to Praia de Santa Cruz?

There are several options to get to Praia de Santa Cruz, including a group transfer, public transport, and uber/taxi. Most guests choose to take a group transfer as it’s the best price/convenience option. Once every guest bought their flights, we group them by the hour of arrival/departure so they can share the costs of the transfer from/to the airport.
